ladyoolong asked: So I've been obsessing over this question enough to break down and make a Tumblr account. You've drawn from a variety of real world religions for the cosmology of YW, including the Juedo-Christian ones, and I'm an atheist who likes to speculate about biblical history. I understand why you might not want to touch this, but how does the man known as Jesus of Nazareth fit in the YW-verse? Would he have been a wizard, like the Silent One? An avatar of the Powers, like (spoiler)? Just a man?

You saw me coming on this one: meaning that this is a subject on which I’ve purposefully been silent, and will be remaining so. 

This I will say, though. There  are atheist wizards in the YW universe, and it’s not a problem at all. They tend to get asked “Are you willing to commit your life to doing this work?”, and if they say “Yes”, well, Ordeal ensues. There is room for widely differing perceptions of Where The Power Comes From, how its personifications present, and so forth. …The general point being that there’s too much Entropy and not enough wizards to get all hung up on outward appearances and backstories that matter less, in the long run, than getting the job done.

Hope this is of use. (Insofar as it can be when I’m not going to be answering the original question.)  :)
