I am bad at selfies.

But look what I did with my hair just now, just for the heck of it!

I hate asymmetrical styles, they never feel right. So this isn’t going to last at all. However.

I parted my hair on the side.

Then I did a rope braid on the left starting at my temple. I did another rope braid on the right using the hair at the nape of my neck. Then I put them together to make one double rope braid. I learned to rope braid from torrinpaige on YouTube; here’s one of her tutorials for that.

Next I gathered the rest of my hair into a low ponytail at nape of my neck, off-centre to the left. I flipped it under and wrapped the rope braid around it.

Then I took all that loose hair and put it into a bun. I pulled the rope braid over my shoulder and secured the bun with my butterfly hair fork and a couple of bobby pins.

Done!

I’m more pleased than I look in that last photo, I promise. Also, please excuse the dirty mirror.

I’ll be letting down the bun part and braiding it fairly soon, it’s definitely bugging me to have something on the side of my head like this. But hey, I did it!
