Anonymous asked: I live in a country where men literally rape babies because they think it will cure their HIV. This is something that a significant portion of the population really, seriously believes. Are you actually suggesting that because these men 'didn't know any better' their sentence should be in ANY way lessened? No. No. Ignorance does not excuse rape, and it does not excuse abuse, and it should not mitigate our response. Every victim should have the option of killing their abuser.

No, I’m not suggesting that.  Of course I’m not suggesting that.  If you wanted to communicate instead of venting your rage on another abuse survivor who doesn’t deserve it, you’d know I wasn’t suggesting that.  Of course the thing where abuse survivors vent their rage on other abuse survivors who don’t deserve it, is the kind of unintentional abusive behavior I was talking about, so maybe this is Exhibit A.  Whatever.  I’ve put up with so much crap today I can’t even make myself care.
