fourloves asked: about the ask saying you're perfect--I think a lot of people on the internet (esp tumblr) have an exaggerated, non-literal use for the word perfect. it's just a compliment and can be used to mean things like "you look great in that picture" or "what you just said was really smart." I think it's kind of similar to people saying things like "you're a queen." sorry if I'm telling you something you already know but I don't think that anon was mocking you or necessarily putting you on a pedestal.

Oh good.  I hope you’re right.  You’re not telling me things I already know.  I’ve had someone recently under the impression that I think that I and people like me are somehow perfect or better than other people (far from the case), so it’s hard to tell without any other cues, what a person actually means.

Notes:
  1. ajax-daughter-of-telamon said: I, too, have seen this usage of perfect. The “Can we talk about …” intro is also idiomatic, so they probably don’t think you’re literally perfect, or that *you* think that you are perfect.
