The Three Musketeers - Alexandre DumasHamlet - William ShakespeareCharlie and the Chocolate Factory - Roald DahlLes Miserables - Victor HugoDunno why some of these are on the list … The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is hardly classic literature, LOL
This list has several of my absolute faves that I will rave FOREVER about, though! Dune! Middlemarch! ALL THE JANE AUSTEN! And Possession! Ye gods, Possession!! And Jude the Obscure probably counts as an all-time fave, though it is very sad.
The Curious Incident as a classic? Oh, dear. Ditto for The Da Vinci Code. Although I guess these additions help me look well-read, since I’m a bit lacking in Dickens and certain other nineteenth-century novels.
I’m pleased to see The Secret History on here, although I had no idea it qualified as a classic. Not sure what the selection criteria here is.
(I italicized all of the ones that I’ve read parts of, but not the whole series, in case you’re wondering.)
I just did crossouts, no italics. I have the complete works of Charles Dickens on my Kindle, so I’ve read a lot of those. I don’t know if the list is meant to be all classics or not, in the first place. Just a lot of classics with some contemporary stuff thrown in, in case that’s the sort of thing people are reading?
