No need to thank me.  There’s no reason to get defensive over something like that.  To me, whether you like being autistic or not is something very personal.  Same as with any other disability.  People have good and bad reasons for both ways of thinking about it.  Even though I may think I have good reasons to prefer being autistic, there are other people who prefer being autistic for reasons that I find awful, and other people who would prefer not to be autistic for reasons I find totally understandable.  But either way, I don’t see it as my business to interfere in such a highly personal set of choices people make about their lives.  I can tell people why I think the way I do, but I’m not going to try and force anyone to be like me.  The world needs more diversity, and diversity of opinion is part of that, people forget that too easily.
