So I talked to my DPA and everyone.
And basically unless I get bruising or severe pain or other signs of internal bleeding, I should be fine waiting at home until tomorrow and then trying to get hold of Interventional Radiology to do a check on my tube to make sure I haven’t displaced it or done something else ugly. This suits me fine because I hate the emergency room with a passion, and because the emergency room doesn’t consider feeding tube issues an emergency… even for steroid-dependent people with adrenal insufficiency. That part scares me a bit – if the j-tube half doesn’t work, this could be the first time I have to inject myself. Which I know I can do, but I’ve only ever practiced on a plum, never my own leg. And I’m not keen on feeling what an IM hydrocortisone shot feels like. So hopefully the tube is still functional. The g-tube seems to be, it’s harder to tell what’s up with the j-tube because it’s further in and you can’t see as easily what’s going on.
