saying “abusers use literally anything at their disposal - including their mental illness” is not saying  ”mentally ill people are abusive” but considering that mentally ill people are more likely to be abused and less likely to be violent, you can understand the need for clarity. 

that being said - abusers use every tool at their disposal and being able to talk about how abusers will use threats of suicide, or say things like “I need you to function” - is so, so common. abusers painting their victims as ‘mutually abusive’ based on the abuser’s status happens so, so often.
