And, talk about quick and easy to eat later. I have no clue how good it might be, but it’s fairly well balanced, GF and shouldn’t require many spoons. Worst case, I can add some extra frozen cooked chicken and adjust the seasoning some.
I also decided to go with some cucumber raita. That’s easy enough.
I am not totally convinced that size bag would reasonably feed two people, unless they were (a) children, (b) not very hungry, and/or © had at least one other dish to supplement the “meal in a bag”. Maybe a good thing I’m not planning to find out tonight. ;)

Is it easier to get South Asian food in ordinary stores in the UK than it is in most parts of the US?  Because here you often have to go to specialty stores and get charged more money for stuff like that, unless you have an Asian market or something nearby.

I was about to say “…but it’s easy to get South Asian food in the US”, but then I remembered I live in California. :P (The Bay Area has *loads* of Asian grocery stores. I feel kind of spoiled living near Indian grocery stores in particular because you can generally get ridiculous amounts of spices for like 10 times cheaper than you’d get for a fraction of the amount at the Safeway or something). Most of the US probably *doesn’t* have that sort of availability. I mean I can’t imagine you have many Asian groceries in Iowa.

That was actually one of the draws when it looked like we would be moving near you for Mr. C’s work: a wide variety of good food readily available. :) I also sometimes miss Mexican food that I don’t have to try to make myself.
In some ways, I’m glad we didn’t end up moving though, especially with the joys of navigating the health care system. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it eventually happened, anyway, since all roads lead to Mountain View (at least with certain employers…).

If I were you, and I were disabled, I would be very very very wary of moving to California.  California is a really bad place to be disabled, at least, this kind of disabled.  And California is only going to get worse in general – and not just for disabled people.  It’s running out of water, among other things.
