This is a Scaly-foot Gastropod. They are the only animal on Earth known to incorporate iron sulfides into their bodies.

They actually build metal shields around their feet, that, along with the underlying organic layer, protect themselves from the extreme heat produced in their hydrothermic vent environment.

Holy crap.  This is like the most badass snail ever.

Snails with metal shoes!  Wow that sounds like a band name.

Snail metal music would be awesome.  Because it would be metal, but it would be the slowest metal ever.
