It doesn’t make your illness, pain, or fatigue any less real
It doesn’t make your struggles any less valid

Don’t let anyone make you feel like you should have to hide or diminish or put an end to your happiness in order to prove something about your illness

IF THEY TRY THIS, THROW GLITTER AT THEM AND MAKE YOUR ESCAPE

This goes for everything.

Tumblr has a really ugly culture of trying to rub people’s nose in their own unhappiness.  Like to prove you have something real, whether an illness, disability, being trans, whatever, you have to prove how miserable it makes you.  Which is all kinds of wrong and does untold damage to people, especially people who really need to be able to move towards being happier, but are afraid if they do their authenticity will be questioned.
