Shout out to every trans or genderless person…

Whose real gender did not protect or shield them, in the slightest, from the worst of their abusive childhood gender socialization, and is afraid to say so because everyone will assume they hold about twenty different horribly damaging views they don’t actually hold.

But who still knows, deep down, that for themselves at least, this party line in the trans community is not only not true, it’s devastating.  And who live with the devastation, keeping it inside, eating away at them, for fear of either letting the community down on the one hand, or of being ostracized from a community they need for survival on the other.

[Posts like this will be marked with things like #tw: gender socialization, for anyone who finds this topic triggering, upsetting, or offensive, which I know a lot of trans people do, and fully understand why. Besides the usual trigger warnings.  Also the usual warning that my ability to remember to trigger warn everything is not perfect and I make major slipups sometimes, so keep that in mind before following.]
