shout out to all the trans people who were made to feel like their mental image of their body was a “sexual fetish.”

shout out to all the trans people who were told that and managed to break through and make some of the surgical or hormonal changes they wanted anyway, and when they were, it felt like “YES!! THAT’S IT!! THIS IS IT! THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!”

shout out to all the trans people who are in danger every time they go to a doctor’s office because they have to hide that they’re on hormones or hormone blockers when they have no intention to change their legal gender, it just makes their body feel more right for them.

shout out to trans people who want to make some changes but can’t make them because the medical system is just too fucked up and it would put them in too much danger.

shout out to all the trans people who want to feel solidarity with intersex people who say “this is the way I was born, I don’t want it changed and I think it’s beautiful,” who have a mix of “male” and “female” characteristics, but are afraid to say it because they worry it might be appropriating intersex issues.

shout out to physicians who prescribe hormones with informed consent policies, so trans people who would otherwise have to spend years in therapy proving they’re ‘trans enough’ to get them can just get what they need with no runaround bullshit.
