I’ve mostly heard ‘sie’ pronounced as ‘zee’, which matches with how the German word ‘sie’ is pronounced (‘sie’ in German is a pronoun that depending on context can mean she or they or even you)

Yeah I’ve heard it used pronounced zee too.  (And I’ve likewise seen ze/hir as a pronoun combination for similar reasons.)  I perosnally prefer see/hear for pronunications, but zee/hear isn’t bad either.

I also don’t mind ze/zer/zem or xe/xyr/xem, both of which  I pronounce the same as each other.  But sie/hir will always be my favorite.  And since it’s not German anymore, but an Anglicized form of German words that alters the meaning of the German words, I don’t mind the pronunciation being quite different from the German.

Plus it’s an easier memory device for English speakers to hear “see/hear” because see and hear are related words in English.

I honestly feel so light that I could dance, or fly, being able to pick my own pronouns.  Like even if nobody else in the world ever used them.  To use them, to know they're mine, to know they feel right in a way no pronoun ever has, it’s just such an excited and exhilarating feeling.  It’s like I didn’t feel like I was allowed, before this – I knew what I preferred, but I felt like I couldn’t even say it or the world would come crashing down around me.  And now I can pick any pronoun that feels right, and to my surprise, there’s one pronoun that’s always felt right, and… it’s just perfect.
