Anonymous asked: I'm aspergic and I've found coping mechanisms that make it possible for me to communicate rather effectively in person, and be friendly, but I struggle a lot with communicating over electronic devices, and apparently come across quite cold. I was wondering if this was common in aspergics/autistics, because most others I've come across seem to prefer it when it's not face-to-face.

I prefer text based communication but even that can be hard at times, so I know what you mean. My ideal communication method would be some sort of direct brain-to-brain transfer, sort of like a highly selective Vulcan mind meld.

I communicate best face-to-face or over video chat (with words typed if necessary, since I’m nonverbal), with autistic people similar enough to my subtype that we can read each other perfectly well without having to resort to words or text.
