A personal thing
When I see people saying that certain ideas are awful, I tend to react by finding out as much as I can about those ideas.
When I see lists circulating of blogs to block for ideological reasons, I tend to go look. Sometimes I follow them. Because I want to know.
I have mixed feelings about whether this is a good way to be or not.
I’m not sure either.
Some of it depends on your motivation.
Like… sometimes I do that kind of thing, and I go back over fights, long fights, reading one fight post after another… and I think that’s part of a very human but very misguided desire to stare at a trainwreck. I don’t think it helps me or anyone else.
But there could be other reasons, that are better reasons.
And it could be you have a mix of motivations, some good and some bad.
