So I went to the pain clinic today…
…about my upper back, which has been giving me trouble since I was 19. And by giving me trouble, I mean it was a big barrier to going to university because I spent a lot of time writhing on the floor screaming. Which was interpreted as purely psychological because I was “too flexible to have back pain” (I’m hypermobile you idiots).
Anyway so she pinpointed the exact spot that hurts the worst, and she’s thinking of getting my doctor to prescribe a TENS unit, and also wants me to try massage. I’m all for both of those because they’re not more meds – she said we could try baclofen or amitriptyline too, which I’ve used in the past for different things, but I’d just as soon not go on more meds if I can help it.
