The definition of a slur has been so diluted.
Yes and that’s… exactly the problem. And exactly why I can’t even engage in a serious conversation with someone who thinks my objections to calling ‘lame’ a slur will somehow encourage violence towards disabled people.

flamethrowing-hurdy-gurdy said: I’m not disabled so my opinion may be irrelevant, but the way I see it, reattributing disabled meanings to words that have actually lost them (the r-word didn’t) only makes disabled people targets for more slurs than they already have to suffer.
