Anonymous asked: Thanks to your posts I learned the word 'stimming' and now I finally know why I do some of the things I do. Well, I kinda knew 'why' before but it helps that it has a name. I'm not on the autistic spectrum, or at least if I am no one ever told me, so thank you also for writing about not cutting people off from certain words and experiences unless they 'prove' they are entitled to them. I don't need any diagnosis to know that sometimes, I just need to flap my hands and make sounds. Thank you.

It’s very important that people with specific disabilities don’t ‘own’ certain concepts or experiences.  In fact it’s rare that any experience is specific to one particular disability and not to at least a few others.
