I think Lovette is allergic to the flea medicine I put on him. His belly got bloated overnight and he’s lying around breathing kind of hard. :l

I wish these health issues would just end already… He got a dose of flea medicine at the vet’s office but the fleas kept coming anyway. And he was starting to scratch his head too much again.

It just never ends…

Oh dear. :( Is there any way we can help you get him back to the vet’s?

I don’t know if resistance to Frontline is a problem there, but I wouldn’t be surprised with as long as it’s been on the market now. We had to switch over to Advocate for our two cats with flea dermatitis because the Frontline stopped doing much for them. It’s still prescription only here (no idea about the US), and we ran out of that and used some leftover Frontline on them again a couple of months ago. It was like they’d had no treatment. :/ They have some Advocate again, thank goodness.

But, I was also thinking that if he’s reacting badly to one flea treatment, he might not to another type. Plus the fleas might not be resistant to another type yet.

I still have the number of the lady who took us to the vet last time. My only concern is being able to get the money in time. She made it clear they’re going to offer ongoing help, it’s just that they can’t pay out of pocket like they did last time. She said she would get me in touch with resources but she dropped contact since then. So I may have to use rent and bill money for this and hope more comes along to replace it.

Glad that you can get in touch with those people again for transportation. I will definitely try to help make up for the vet bill, as much as I can.

If anyone else is able to help:

Donate to nymphbeast@gmail.com on Paypal if you can afford to. Please make a note that it’s for lichgem, since it’s not my Paypal. If you can’t afford to help, please signal boost. Thank you.

And I really was not kidding about the dropkicks in that last boost reblog. If you’re even tempted to try to harass this woman over having a cat, you’d best reconsider that impulse.
