Narcotics are the physically safest of the pain meds, and most people who take them for pain do not become addicted.  The idea that all or even most people who take them for pain will become addicted, are lies that lead to people not getting proper pain control  So anyone who tries to spread these ideas about someone for even thinking about taking them, or even thinking about how dangerous pretty much every other kind of pain med is in comparison  (seriously – NSAIDs, Tylenol, steroids, and anticonvulsants are the main ones used, and they all have mega-side-effects that can do damage or even kill you, compared to narcotics) needs to stop.
