Also in the realm of Tumblr fandom things I can’t stand: Writing off relationships as “problematic” or “unhealthy” when one or both parties has mental issues.

First off, people need to learn that presenting a relationship in fiction isn’t saying “this is the ideal of how all relationships to be.”

Secondly, crazy people can be in consensual relationships! And FFS, there is no such thing as a relationship that is always comfortable, “healthy,” and unproblematic in Tumblr’s understanding of the word.

Shit, should I have sought social approval before entering into a long-term relationship as a crazy person?

Wow, yeah.

I see a lot of that in Hunger Games stuff.

(I’m not a Hunger Games fan exactly.  I found the books insufferably boring.  But I found the actual story – after I’d read the books and it had settled into my head – much more interesting than the books themselves, and have read a fair amount of Hunger Games meta.)
