I am not normally much of a shopper, let alone a shoe shopper.  But I was in the thrift store today looking for dad-shirts (like the one I’ve got on in these photos) and…

Normally my mother buys my shoes.  I get to pick sometimes, but I never get my own shoes.  I’ve been looking since I was like 15 for a pair of suede boots that was comfy and broken in, and I just found some (the shoes in the second picture).

And then I found something sturdy and leather or leather-like and nice-looking. (The first picture.)  Kind of conservative in a good way.

In addition to three dad-shirts.

All extremely cheap.

The suede boots, by the way, are now the most comfortable pair of shoes I own, hands down.

None of the shoes fit me exactly, but I never really wear shoes that fit, because my feet are super-short and super-wide, so I tend to buy shoes that are too long because then they’re wide enough.  So these shoes are too long, but I’m used to walking in shoes that are too long so it’s not a big deal, and to me they’re perfect.

Also getting to choose my own shoes is a huge deal, because that doesn’t usually happen, at all.  Usually my mom either just buys me shoes, or buys a bunch of shoes and lets me choose between them and then brings back the ones I don’t want.  But I don’t get to actually pick things that go with my own aesthetics or anything.
