Yes, that’s right.
Background for those who don’t know it: Some assholes suggest getting Derek tested for autism. He asks if he’d still be the same person whether he gets the test or not, is told yes, and refuses the test. So there’s the implication that he could really be autistic but they’re not going to test him to find out.
He also isn’t a stereotypical autistic character, although he does have some other disability stereotypes that some people find really obnoxious. I can see their point, but I still like him. He’s like an autistic Hufflepuff in the extreme. But some people would object strongly to his portrayal as sort of saintly and pure. I just… I like him, I can’t help liking him, regardless of what stereotypes go into him.
