IMO this is an over-simplification. It is okay for a father to grieve for a child who never got the opportunity to live outside of a hospital. FFS, it’s not about wanting a perfect baby.

Agreed. It’s not his grief for her death that I have a problem with. It’s not him I have a problem with at all, really.

It’s the article and the community.

It’s the way that equipment that supports life or mobility is damn near universally used as a sign of death and suffering in the media.

  2. pervocracy said: Yeah, I… I realize that came off harsh on the father and I didn’t mean to be all “you must grieve PROPERLY.” But the fact that what he wanted was sort of the expected thing and everyone instantly understood why he wanted it.
