vulturechow asked: Hi! I am wanting to send your video 'In My Language' to a few friends who study butoh with me - a kind of dance that is often very internal, deeply sensory. If you haven't heard of it and are curious I would love to write you more about it. The question is - much of what we try to practice are experiences that I think are your everyday reality, and I think these ppl would benefit from seeing the art and life of someone with so sensory a mind. I am worried this could be exploitative without

my asking you if this is okay. I very much hope it will also sprout desire to learn more about people whose thought worlds are invisiblized/demonized. So question really is - are you ok with my sharing the link with dancers, learning a little something of other ways of being and maybe feeling their dance richer/more connected for it? This was so hard to phrase and I am worried I didn’t do it well.

That’s fine.  I mean, the video was made to be watched, and I can’t stop you, and wouldn’t stop you anyway.  People can connect with it in whatever way they want to, whether I like it or not.  And I tend to like it when people connect with it in nonstandard ways instead of going “look at the autistic freakshow” kind of thing.
