psyllium is a sensory nightmare for me because it tastes like sand but i’m supposed to start taking it again to regulate my stool hardness but it tastes like sand and suffering and resentment and being forced to do something when i don’t understand why and i just

i thought i was in an ok place with gastrointestinal issues, but then the doctor’s like “and you’ll need to make psyllium cookies” and i’m like “… fffffuck“ and then his assistant prints off the recipes and i’m like ”fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck -sob, meltdown in the doctor’s office-

any other auties had to take psyllium for reasons? how d’you deal with it tasting like sand and suffering? because to me it is inextricably linked with stress and hatred and resentment and hiding things from my mum and hiding things under my bed to pretend i’ve eaten them because hell no it’s disgusting you can’t fucking make me

I took it in pill form.  It was inside capsules and you could still taste it but it wasn’t as strong as the powder.

Have you asked your doctor about Miralax?  I mixed that in Gatorade and it did wonders for the… problems.  Twice a day, then double that if I didn’t go the next day, then same (double the first dose) plus an enema if that didn’t work.
