Snot on my finger is intriguing; snot resting on nose hairs in another’s nostril is tempting but also gross. Snot hawks on the pavement are those nasty black ovals. Snot in a handkerchief or tissue is tolerable. What is it with snot? Do one’s snot responses correlate with shit reactions or pee thoughts or blood instincts?

All I know is that picking my nose seems fine but picking my stoma seems utterly disgusting, and I can’t understand why there’s a difference.
