The other day I saw a post that said something like “Don’t like, don’t read is a copout”

I didn’t want to say anything, but it’s been bothering me for days now.

Writers are not your personal little story-making objects that make sure you are all cozy and comfy, people. If something is not for you, move along, and maybe consider the possibility that that one thing they made is not for you.

Agreed.  Not everyone can write things compatible with everyone else.  And I frequently tell people who find my posts upsetting to not read them, to block me, whatever it takes.  Not that this means I have no responsibility as a writer.  But when the problem is a total lack of compatibility for some reason, then it’s not a good idea for someone to feel obligated to keep reading what I write.  Like, for instance, because I can’t trigger warn as consistently as some people need.  Or because I use words that some people find offensive or upsetting, and will not stop using those words.  Or because my posts are too long or too frequent.  Those are good reasons not to read me if it causes sufficient pain.
