Annnnd… this is how you drink a lot of water in a GJ tube.  I must have given myself 5 syringes full, which is a lot (at least, it’s a lot when it goes into your intestines, which unlike your stomach, don’t expand to accommodate food and water), but I was thirsty.  Very thirsty.

I’m really glad they sent this new kind of syringes.  They’re a little dangerous because they don’t stop when you pull them back too far, so you can spill water or meds all over yourself.  But they’re also the only syringes I’ve been able to operate without help, because they slide very easily, unlike the ones that stick and are very hard to push.  I’ve actually pulled muscles trying to use the old kind.  I just wish they’d send this kind all the time.  (I get them from a medical supplier and have no real choice of brand.  I also don’t even know what brand or anything these are.)
