Anonymous asked: MBTI explains you're natural state, when happy or progessing personally. I don't think it's hard and fast rules of what/who you are, and we all have a range of types we fall into. I'm an ENFP, which also has ESFP and INFP and NTP habits. TO ME it explains a lot of me and my friends personalities. It's not a dictonomy and not a law code. It's a way SOME people make sense of, and help and explain themselves..

It’s definitely a dichotomy, which means a system of opposites – I is the opposite of E, N is the opposite of S, T is the opposite of F, and P is the opposite of J.  So each of those four things is a dichotomy.  Some people would say a false dichotomy (things that aren’t opposites, but that look like opposites) but that’s up for debate.  I can see it’s not a law code though.

I’m supposedly an ISFP.  I can’t really get any self-knowledge out of any of the descriptions, though.  Either of that or of INFP, INTP, or ISTP, which are the only other ones I’ve really fallen into ever.  I just can’t see much use in it for myself.  I invented my own continuation of N and S – U.  So that if N is at one end, and S is in the middle, U is at the opposite end.  But I don’t expect it to take off, even if IUFP would’ve been infinitely easier for me to understand.  :-P
