also I don’t like the tumblr “start fights with someone who is wrong about something” stuff

but if you are talking to someone who thinks wheelchair = can never walk/stand ever I would REALLY appreciate if you could just say something like “what about people with heart problems” or “what about people with bad joints” because people don’t seem to have any issue remembering this when it’s an elderly person getting up but seem to forget if the person in question looks *~healthy~* enough.

I have to explain to doctors on a regular basis because even they assume I am a paraplegic by default because that mindset is so pervasive, and the looks your get for moving your leg is like you just punched a kitten.
