Competing access need issue:

Autistics with one kind of configuration need really precise language, and often pride themselves on their precision and think of other people as speaking wrong.

Autistics with another kind of configuration aren’t *capable* of being particularly precise with language.

When this isn’t understood as a competing access needs issue and turns into a fight about who’s using language wrong, bad things happen.

I have seen this happen easily dozens of times over the years and it always turns ugly.  Usually with both sides accusing each other of not caring, not trying hard enough, not caring about access, etc.
