also on #4, people who can’t get an eval/diagnosis because they’re already part of a vulnerable, oppressed group and don’t trust the system and authority figures for very valid reasons. they are unlikely to ever willingly get an official diagnosis.

yeah this is basically why I am sticking with “misc intellectual disability secondary to mitochondrial disease” instead of trying to figure out what one specifically.

it’s not the risk of getting some somatoform shit slapped on me and my treatment stopped :’)

So physical conditions can cause intellectual disabilities?

Because my IQ has been dropping and dropping and dropping my entire life, as my physical condition has been worsening and worsening and worsening, and that’d be an interesting explanation, at least as good as any other I’ve had.

(I was last tested age 22, it was 85.  At this rate it would be even lower now, but I don’t know what it would be, or if it will ever be low enough to be considered a true intellectual disability.  Certainly something has been going on, though.)
