Because I like to date people who’re intelligent and who’m I can have a good healthy conversation with about interesting stuff.

Thinking that “can have a good heathy conversation about interesting stuff” and “high IQ” are the same…

I never said you needed a high IQ to say valuable things.

I just said I value intelligence in potential partners. 

My point was that valuing intelligence can mean several different things. Some are ableist, some aren’t.

Yes, exactly.  There’s ways that valuing intelligence can be a good thing, just like valuing any other talent.  It just depends on what you consider intelligence to be.  And it also depends on whether valuing any given trait, means devaluating people without that trait.  Which can happen.  And yes, equating intelligence with ‘giftedness’ or 'high IQ’ is a problem, if you do that.  Because they’re not the same thing at all.  Most people I know on tumblr consider me intelligence, and my IQ is 85, so.  Yeah.
