Your psychology degree gives you neither the right nor the experience to speak over autistic people. 

If an autistic person is trying to tell you about autism, shut your mouth and listen.

Two things I wish psych majors would understand:

1) The research literature that psychology coursework draws from is almost entirely uninformative about the subjective experiences of autistic people. There are lots of different internal processes that could lead to the same result on a behavioral test.  Just because an explanation seems obvious to you doesn’t mean it’s the right one.

2) Your professors are oversimplifying the literature. If your professors talked about autism and theory of mind, but didn’t go beyond Sally Anne, they left out a lot. Same for a bunch of other topics.
