Please stop saying autistic people ‘have the minds of [insert age here]’.

An eighteen-year-old autistic person does not have the mind of a child, they have the mind of an eighteen-year-old autistic person. 

Stop infantilizing autistic people.

The same goes for people with intellectual disabilities.  Who were the first people this sort of phrasing was used about, and who continue to be the reason it’s applied to autistic people.
