NEED COUCH - Boston

I’m a 28-year-old genderqueer trans man. I’ve been on hormones for about 5 years.

I’m a recent graduate, looking for some temporary space in the Boston area while I get things sorted out. I do freelance graphic/web design, but this income is variable. I’ve been asking around (and my friends have too) and trying to set up housemate situations with friends and friends-of-friends for the past three months, but the person I was organising things with had suddenly gone through a crisis, leaving me to start from the beginning again.

A friend of mine has offered me some space but it’s rather out of the way (in the South!) and I’d much rather stay in the Greater Boston area (preferably Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Arlington or Medford) where all my current resources, offline friends etc are. I’d rather not go from this area to a part of the country where there are much fewer resources for trans people.

Ideally I’d like to be able to stay somewhere for a few months (between one and three). I have some savings that I can use to contribute to things like food and maybe utilities. I’ll be spending this time trying to see if I can find work in areas where I’m experienced (design, not-for-profit/government work).

I’m autistic and have some degree of social anxiety (which generally means I’ll keep to myself). I’d consider myself relatively friendly despite the social anxiety. I don’t have any major food restrictions (I eat meat, I don’t keep kosher etc). I’d like to be near the T or a bus line. I drink occasionally but I don’t smoke (but I’m fine with smokers as long as they’re not doing it indoors). I’m fine with cats and small pets; I tend to vary with dogs. I can help with cooking a few nights a week. I tend to spend most of my time on the internet (either doing work or just surfing) or doing other solitary things like reading.
