Seeking attention…
I am seeking attention right now.
That is what most people do when we post on tumblr.
Why is it that it is okay for people to seek attention on tumblr, as long as we aren’t too obvious about it?
But the moment we get too obvious? Or the moment we’re open about it? Or the moment we do one of those activities that is universally understood to Always And Only Be Attention-Seeking (self-diagnose with autism, identify as plural or Otherkin, etc.)? Then it’s bad, bad, bad to want attention.
WTF?
Social media exist to give people attention. People should stop pretending they’re the high and mighty ones when they want attention just as much if not more as anyone else. In fact, I wonder if the “He just wants attention (eyeroll)” game people play is one of the most attention-seeking of all, in one of the most destructive ways…
