Anyone autistic have any experience with this book?
Just the title turns me off already, mind you. I hate when things say “AS/HFA” as if that’s the only people who’ll be reading their books, and it usually means that they’ll leave off the most difficult areas of my life, out of the book. "Use your strengths" and “meet the challenges” feel like buzzwords. The whole thing feels like I’m being marketed at.
But given that a few years ago it was hard to find any books directed at autistic people instead of at our parents or caregivers, I figured I could at least ask if anyone has experience with this book, and if it’s any good.
It doesn’t appear to be by an autistic person, but please let me know if she is. She looks like she’s just an autism professional.
Meh. I wish there were more in the way of practical manuals for autistic people, but I’ve read a few (including some by autistic people) and good ones are few and far between, maybe countable on one hand. Or one finger.
