Anonymous asked: just wondering: what do you (or anyone who reads this) think: could an autistic person become a dog trainer ? I love dogs, they're my number one special interest ever. I love learning everything I can about them. I even enjoy talking to other people about them (which is highly unusual for me as I usually don't say much). BUT I am downright AWFUL when it comes to explaining things to others and am not very good at finding creative solutions b/c of cognitive issues and stuff. What do you think ?

Yes there are autistic dog trainers already.  Jim Sinclair has trained all of xyr own SSiGDoGS (basically dogs trained to assist in social signaling and also navigational support similar to hearing and guide dogs), because nobody was willing to train them for xem.  And I know xe can’t be the only one.  I’m certain there are tons out there.  Whether you personally can be, I don’t know, but I’d definitely look into it if that’s your dream.
