Mom, when you find this, can you read it to my dad?

I played this song for the first time for Anne today, and she understood it.  I know you’ve heard it before, even if you don’t remember it.  But some of the lyrics reminded me of you.  And especially reminded me of the way we’ve been learning to communicate with each other more and more lately.

~If language were liquid it would be rushing in.  Instead here we are in a silence more eloquent than any word could ever be.~

~Cause words are too solid, they don’t move fast enough, to catch the blur in the brain, that flies by, and is gone, gone, gone…~

~I’d like to meet you in a timeless, placeless place.  Somewhere out of context, and beyond all consequences.~

~I won’t use words again they don’t mean what I meant they don’t say what I said.  They’re just the crust of the meaning with realms underneath, never touched, never stirred, never even moved through.~

I want to talk to you about that timeless, placeless place.

When we communicate with each other through love alone, that’s where we go.

No matter what happens, no matter where you go, no matter when you die, no matter when you are alive, I will always be in that place waiting for you.  It’s outside of time, it’s outside of place, so I can always be there, and my love for you will always be there.

You’re probably already finding that love leaves you at a loss for words.  Love is in a way the opposite of words.  It’s everything that words are not.  We can talk around love, but we can’t quite talk about love.  Not that intense, divine love that you are being called towards now.

Remember that even if your words ever go away completely, even if they never come back, even if something happens to your brain… your love will still be there, your love will still be complete, and you will still be in that timeless, placeless place.   Always.  And I will still be there too. And so will everything and everyone who ever loved you, who was ever important to you.  We’re all there together.  We’re all there for you.  No matter what happens.

Love always, outside words, outside time, outside space, inside love in every possible way,

Mel
