My brother is the saint who bought me the drainage bag.
I am, as usual lately, forever in his debt. He bought the amazing air conditioner too. The one that means I’m not going to die of heatstroke. It’s so much better, it cools the whole apartment, even staff walking in the door into the kitchen can feel a noticeable difference. It used to be walking into my apartment in the summer was like walking into a furnace from the air conditioned hallway. Now, walking into my apartment is cooler than the hallway. I have one amazing air conditioner and one amazing fan and between the two of them it can get a little warm and stuffy sometimes but nothing unmanageable.
Thank you Shane, thank you so much. I love you. And you seriously are starting to qualify for sainthood in my book when it comes to these amazingly on-the-dot-what-I-needed-right-then medical purchases. :-P And yes I’m kidding about that, but I’m also serious how grateful I am.
You know… I used to be shit at writing thank-you notes, but it’s so easy to write them on tumblr. It’s so easy to write everything on tumblr, compared to other places. That’s why I write here so much compared to other places. There’s something so user-friendly about it that I can do things I couldn’t do before:
- Keep in touch with more than one friend at a time
- Write, whether long or short things, and not care which
- Write, whether polished or not, and not care wish
- Write thank-you notes
- Write things intended for specific people but written in public because I have too much inertia to write them anywhere else, and tumblr helps me overcome inertia
- And so much more
Seriously tumblr is this weird place where I can do things I can’t normally do. I hope I never have to lose it for some reason. Or that it doesn’t corrupt or destroy itself in some way to make it unusable to most users. Because I need tumblr, or a place like it. I need a place where I can have large groups of friends and not even remember their names. I need a place where I can write to everyone at once and one person at a time, at the same time. I need a place where I don’t need to feel ‘always on’ or as if my writing has to be polished and finished the way I feel with my formal blog posts. It’s just easier.
And thank you again, Shane. Thank you so much. New drainage bags are like the Holy Grail around here. We seriously spent the entire morning gaping at the thing not believing that someone actually shelled out the money for one of these things. Like there was a lot of “OMGWTFBBQ I don’t believe it” sentiments going around when we opened it. THANK YOU. THANk YOU SHANE.
tHANK YOU sHANE!
