as small as a world and as large as alone

i don’t understand rich people like “i could donate to charity and keep my fellow human beings sheltered and fed, OR I could build a second indoor pool, a home theatre, and buy a spring home in the hamptons”

My route to the meetinghouse on Sunday used to always take me past this giant mansion on a hill.

All I could think of was how many homeless people in town could be housed there.  And how our government was instead cracking down on their existence by destroying their tent cities and crap.  When there was a perfectly good, huge house up there with plenty of room.

Enraged.  Nobody needs a house that large.  Lots of people could use even a small house, and can’t.  (And don’t get me started on zoning laws and tiny houses.)
