Tobias and the hawk thing
Someone suggested that he became a hawk on purpose, because he knew his home situation sucked and didn’t want to end up a homeless human teen with no survival skills.
And that brings back so many memories of being a teen who was always trying to learn wilderness survival, because I thought that in order to avoid the psych system and the world that would not be able to handle me outside some kind of institution, I would have to move to the woods and become a hermit.
If I’d had morphing powers, I might’ve done what Tobias did, become a deer or something. Seriously. At that point in my life I saw no future as a human.
