Gender identity is valid. Gender expression is subjective. Gender norms are bullshit.

Weirdly enough I get more shit about this from within the trans community than from outside it.

“Those damn DFAB people who call themselves genderless but still wear dresses and go by female names and pronouns.”

How many times have I heard that, and how many times has it been from a trans person?

Mind you, I don’t always wear ‘feminine’ clothing, the main name I go by is gender-neutral (even if my legal name is still female), I use sie/hir pronouns, etc.  But I know that on some days I still do enough of those things to be one of the people they’re griping about, and so are some of my friends, and it’s like… can’t we be the gender we are, or lack the gender we aren’t, without making it into a big production?
