pumpkinwhitaker:

I wonder why nobody ever seems to flirt with me.

Is it that they are flirting and I just don’t notice it because autistic? Or is it that people just don’t flirt with me?

And if it’s the latter, why is that?

I’m really bad at noticing when people are flirting with me.  Usually, I only figure it out after someone else tells me what’s going on.

I remember going to a gay bar once and this woman kept making eye contact with me, causing me to hide under the table, and after we left my friend told me that woman had been trying to flirt with me.

Another time, a girl kept hanging around me a lot and pointedly telling me she was bisexual, and I never realized what was going on until ten years later.

I have no idea how to notice when I’m being flirted with, though.  I don’t think people flirt with me much now, but that’s partly because I don’t leave the house.  And being visibly disabled does sometimes decrease the number of people who are willing to see you as a sexual being at all.

So it could be either one, or both, and I have no idea what to do about it.
