I also hate when I’ll tell men that I can’t trust men

as if my reactions, my hypervigilance, my mistrust came from just one man’s actions

and not the sum of all of the actions

how men act in groups

how men behave everyday

I’ve had a lot of people assume that I’m attracted only to women and nonbinary people because I was mistreated by so many guys.  That’s… not it, people.  Any apparent “straight” phase I went through was because I thought that’s how the world had to work, not because I was somehow undamaged at first and then later became so damaged I turned into a lesbian.  I do know lesbians who are lesbians because they chose not to be in relationships with men, and that’s a valid choice, but it’s hardly the only way to become one.  I’ve just always been attracted to women.  

(And I know “lesbian” isn’t exactly the word for “genderless person attracted only to women and nonbinary and genderless people”, but it’s the only way I have to have a community at all where I stand half a chance, so fuck anyone who tries to take gay communities of any kind away from nonbinary people of any kind.  Seriously, fuck them.  It’s hard enough to find communities without ridiculous amounts of identity policing that make people with obscure identities lose out no matter where we go.)
