Chronic illness is feeling something and greeting it, not like an old friend perhaps. But like someone you know you will always spend time with. That twinge that leads to a pain so severe, you can’t move. Knowing what’s coming and just waiting. Because yes, there are meds for that. But taking them isn’t really great, and they don’t get rid of it. So thank you, but no I won’t “get better”, some days I feel better. But I have several chronic illnesses that call my body home. And this is my life.
