Anonymous asked: You mentioned in response to a question about crossing roads that people have grabbed your hand to keep you from walking into traffic. I imagine that must feel invasive and infantalizing. Asking as someone trying to learn how to be the best disability ally possible, what do you think is the best way to stop someone for hir safety.

I don’t mind being grabbed if it’s someone I know.  Or if it’s an emergency.  I mean, to me if someone could be killed, I’ll give them some slack on how they keep the person from dying.  I don’t really know any standardized way to do it that would make sense.  I did have someone insist on holding my hand every time we crossed the street, and that was a little odd, but at the time I didn’t question it because I was clearly horrible at street crossing and she was scared for me.  I think it’d depend on the person really.
